Demonstrators cant reach US embassy! [Archives:2002/19/Local News]

Hundreds of protesters were stopped a kilometer short of the US embassy last Friday in Sanaa.
The demonstrators held portraits of late Jamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt and Hezbullah flags.
They shouted anti American and Israeli slogans and called for closing the US embassy and severing relations with the US.
The marchers were led by a group that called itself the Peoples Committee for Supporting Arabs and Muslims Causes which also called for boycotting US products and encouraging Jihad.
The US embassy had closed its doors to the public for six days before it reopened last Monday.
