Disarmament in the rural provinces [Archives:2004/783/Letters to the Editor]

I enjoyed reading your article “Can this be a new beginning” (opinion 13th September). Certainly, it's an undeniable fact that we urgently need to disarm the far-off tribes because we won't be able to live in tranquilly with this obsessed atmosphere. We have, therefore, to seize the opportunity of terminating the followers of the heretic cleric in Saadah to launch an extensive war against armed tribes.
However, it worth taking into account that the government should be mindful, and handle this prevalent phenomenon carefully. For unfortunate reasons, our government faces intractable problems, the most important of all, the lack of adequate finances to recompense the primitive tribes that were armed to the teeth, by employing and amalgamating them into society.
In addition, that the activation of a geopolitical approach can probably make a sense of patriotism which paves the way to ease the disarmament process in the few years ahead.
