Five people were killed and six injured in Dhamar last Thursday as a result of clashes for a piece of land. Local sources told Yemen Times clashes erupted Thursday evening between the tribes of al-Absari and al-Sabari disputing over a piece of land that contains big rocks to be cut and used for buildings.
The sources said an ambush was plotted by al-Absari for a group of people belonging to al-Sabari, killing five and injuring six of them. The clashes lasted for one hour until the police interfered and stopped the clashes arresting five persons of al-Absari.
Disputes over land ownership have recently increased, claiming the lives of tens of people.
Such disputes increase due to the unfair and injustice judiciary forcing people to take the law into their hands.
