Let’s start with transparency [Archives:2003/645/Letters to the Editor]

I read almost all the Yemeni newspapers regularly. And I find one common thing shared by all newspapers, political leaders, ministers, governors and the public and that is corruption.
No doubt, it is a very big problem to our Yemen. And it will take great efforts, sacrifice, and a lot of time. But, this does not mean, we should give up. Let us start with what we think we can control a little. For example: we should start with transparency. Every minister, governor or any senior officer whether in army, police or civil should declare in public how much fortune he has and see how much has he when he leaves the post.
