Tribes must come together
Although our government has taken great steps towards settling the long enmity among tribes to live as one family, still do we feel tribes are not able to sort out their hatred against one another?
In fact this ongoing situation breads more hatred. We need the tribes to come together and forget the past and try to build a new Yemen for the next generation.

Re: American Way editorial
Yes, we Americans do stand by our government. However, we do not condone what is happening in Israel and Palestine.
We don’t believe in destruction of innocent people’s lives just as we don’t believe in the raising of children to go out and blow themselves up for a “cause”.
Do you think for one minute that anyone will have sympathy for a people who act with nothing else but terrorism and aggression simply because they believe so strongly in a religion which has so many variations that no-one can understand?
I think once Palestine is willing to eliminate the terrorist threat, they may successfully seek international assistance.

Stop lecturing to Americans
My first contact with the YT was an on-line reading of your April 8-14 issue. I have no comment to make except that your editor, who is not an American, should refrain from lecturing Americans on the “American way”. American citizenry is by no means a monolithic group blindly following its government. Also, we do not support everything done by Israelis or condemn everything done by Arabs. Thank you.

About the American Way
I enjoy reading your online paper weekly, and really appreciate it and the perspectives it gives. In reply to your “American Way” column, I am a true patriotic American. I love my country, and the freedoms it allows. I try to stand beside the government of my country, though not always do I agree. Many decisions our government makes are not always the opinion of the majority. I do not think that what you described is the “American Way.” But neither do I think that terrorists strapping bombs to themselves and taking their own lives, as well as innocent lives of others, is the “American Way” either.

Enough is enough
I know it is a shame the people of the world cant get along with each other, but we all have to try. Stop, stop all the killing and hate, it really gets us no place. Dont hurt them and they wont hurt you. Draw a line and stay with it. Is it really worth the life of your son or mine. Not to me.

Arab leaders and lost hope
As an Arab-American, a Yemeni-American to be exact, I see what is going on in Palestine today, and that makes me feel angry at our Arab leaders. They have the means to stop the Israeli aggression against the rightful owners of Palestine (Palestinians).
At least they have the power to pressure the main supporter of Israel, the United States. From what it looks like, the Egyptian and Jordanian leaders seem to be more concerned with the aid that they are getting from the United States than they are about the daily killing of the Palestinian by the terrorist Israeli soldiers. On the other hand Gulf States are more concerned about the prices of oil and about how much money they have made from their investment in the European and American stock markets. This is disgusting. The Arabs are fighting themselves. They should unite against Israel.
