An agreement of support was signed on Thursday, October 8 by the Yemeni parliament and the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The year-long project is financed and supported by UNDP under Yemen’s Governance Capacity and Institution Reform Program, designed to help strengthen government institutions in the country.
“The program will include training of MPs, staffers as well as enahncing documentation and parliamentary procedures of committees,” said Derek Butler, NDI Field Representative. “NDI has been working in support of democracy in Yemen since 1993, in the fields of elections, civic education and political party development,” he added.
