Mr. Noman Kaid Saif, ex-chief editor of Al-Showra, received half of his unsettled salaries and damages due on Al-Showra newspaper organ of the People’s Forces Union. This was a decision taken by court in his favor as a result of his arbitrary dismissal from the paper. The other half is to be paid within two months as defined by Noman in the Supreme Court.
Noman, who has worked for 20 months as a chief editor of Al-Showra newspaper, has already won a court verdict by the Preliminary Court that was endorsed by the Court of Appeal. However, leaders of the People’s Forces Union refusal to abide by the court verdict delayed it for about a year. The implementation of the judgment came only after an obligatory verdict passed by the court.
This case is considered as an urgent case, though the law clearly stipulates that labor cases are over when they are challenged.
