Preaching hatred in Arab world [Archives:2003/656/Letters to the Editor]

As an American, the problem with Arab countries is that in their textbooks and mosques they preach hatred of Jews and the West and call them “infidels”. To my knowledge, no other countries in Europe or South America, Australia, or China have these hatreds taught to their children generation after generation. It would have been better if we could only learn to preach love and tolerance and think how to make this world a better place. I think the free world sees this today and will slowly see that these teachings are keeping us from having the kind of world we all anticipate. Am I wrong?
