The newspapers editorial written by Mr Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Wazir, chairman of the Higher Council of Yemeni Peoples Forces Union, says what is currently happening in the holy land and what the Palestinian people are facing is something unprecedented in history. What is going on there is a host of crimes including killing of thousands of children, women and elderly people and without sparing, of course, killing and breaking bones of young people and children. These also involve demolition of residential houses and shelling those areas with U.S.-made warplanes and tanks. The Zionist practices also included destroying thousands of trees and shelling ambulances and hospitals. All these savage and atrocious acts happen every day under the very nose of world nations, including the Arab people from the Ocean to the Gulf and the Muslim nations.
The writer appeals in his article to conscience of each human on earth to take a stand for defending human rights and dignity to work for stopping these massacres to which the Palestinians are exposed.

The newspapers editorial says our country proceeds from its nationalist stands and according to dictates of the nations interests as well as its principle of backing the justice of the Palestinian cause and right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state as stipulated in resolutions of international legitimacy. This attitude necessitates taking all forms of stands supporting the legitimate Palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinian legitimate struggle particularly at these difficult circumstances that warn of a catastrophe and serious dangers against the Arabs and the Palestinians.
The editorial emphasizes the necessity of a unified Arab will formulating from its material and spiritual potentials a qualitative stand achieving just, comprehensive and lasting peace supported by power and elements of resistance. Nowadays we are in dire need of offering an example of cohesion for the noblest issue ever on Earth and the most honorable struggle, i.e. the Palestinian intifadha.

Israeli prime minister Sharon is leading his people to a losing criminal war supported by the world Zionist movement. The Zionists have started these military operations against the defenseless and besieged Palestinian people and therefore they massed up their tanks, warplanes and missiles and no Zionist has asked himself the reason why Israel is waging this war.
Sharons allegations are that he is doing so to destroy the infrastructure of terror and to reach to a real ceasefire. The Zionists have supported this war while they fully know that Sharon is lying because they all know that ending the occupation is the only means to stop hostilities and produces a ceasefire. The Zionists have turned a blind eye on mass killings, demolition of residential houses, mass arrests and other Israeli crimes. Thus the entire people in Israel have become accomplices of Sharon talking in one voice about war without asking who would achieve security for Israel after the destruction of all infrastructure of the Palestinian authority and whether the Israeli army would remain stationed in the Palestinian areas. How would security coordination with a destroyed people?
The massacres that took place in Jenin and Nablus have surpassed in their brutality what happened in the camps of Sabra and Shatilla. And the arrest campaigns implemented against the Palestinians would produce only hatred on part of the Palestinians and that of Arab peoples, a situation that would never serve the process of peaceful settlement in the region.

Columnist Ali bin Abdull al-Wasie says in his column this week we were thinking good of America despite our watching of its behavior but we had not thought it would slide to this flagrant level. It has led the Arabs by hand to the Zionist enemy to attain a state of peace to the extent we have called America as sponsor of peace while the Americans were repeatedly mentioning the phrase of building confidence.
The columnist asks if there could be a simple-minded to place confidence in the Jews. If the Americans trust the Jews, its their own matter despite the many instances when this ally has betrayed America in several cases.
The Jews have withdrawn from some areas so that the Palestinian authority to replace them, though we realize that the Jews in the depth of their mind believe they would not give up one inch of Palestine and all that they do is but deceit until they would gain a recognition acknowledging their right to what they had usurped.
The Palestinians have offered successive concessions until they got nothing to concede. But the Jews, backed by the Americans, continued demanding more concessions and that made the Palestinian authority announce they have nothing to concede. The Americans persisted in sending their envoys to demand the Palestinians, the victim, for more surrender.

The newspapers editorial says the Arab leaders insist that democracy is their preferable policy in dealing with their peoples and that they would not accept any alternative for it whatever the circumstances are. Those leaders are keen on depending this expression and exert all efforts to convince their peoples that there is no better democracy other than theirs. Arab peoples attitude differs towards this explanation, but the intellectuals completely refuse to accept and for some reasons they are forced to submit to it but not to surrender.
The recent events by the Zionists against the Palestinian people came to expose the Arab rulers before the world. The Arab massive demonstrations that took to the streets denouncing the Israeli savage aggression and demanding the Arab rulers to express the masses views and stands by taking positive attitudes were intercepted and prevented by force from expressing of their right, that is democratically legal.
Arab rulers, if they were sincere, are requested to act similar to their western counterparts who respect the local public opinion and always work for meeting wishes of their peoples.

Political editor of the newspaper says in his article that at the time the American stand towards the Mideast began to be biased to Israel the European stand appeared to be from the information standpoint as more neutral and objective. But this European attitude has not been unified for all member states of the European Union. We have nevertheless admit that despite negative aspects of the European stand it keeps to be an advanced one to that of America.
This European advanced stance has regretfully remained confined to the framework of political address that satisfies the Arabs psychologically but does not achieve anything on the ground regarding Palestine. We have to understand the factors that affect the European stand and how to remove the negative aspects out of it. We have also to insist on the European role in the peace process as partner in the Arab-Israeli talks besides America, Russia and the UN.
