Editor in chief has this week written on recent address of prime minister Abdulqader ba-Jammal to media men saying it has contained more than one stand of the PMs government versus a host of local and Arab events. The PMs talk was not lacking transparency and the latter also did not prevent him from welcoming the Americans, as part of his governments achievements, forgetting that hat contradicts the principle of national sovereignty and independence and deemed interference in internal affairs. The prime minister justified recruitment of American experts as aimed at training local security apparatus on techniques of fighting following their failure and fall of victims resulting from ambushes they had set by tribes.
This justification is to be refuted. The US secretary of state has recently said that America has sent its troops to Yemen to help it put an end to terrorism and al-Qaeda network. This is an accusation the prime minister has denied, saying those who have been detained are relatives of those who had taken part in the Afghan war against the Soviets, and justifying their arrest as part of a world campaign against terror.
Editor in chief article also said that in his dealing with democratic gains in Yemen the prime minister has admitted that 2002 elections would be typical, unlike those of 1993 and 1997 that were governed by political circumstances and balance of power. This in fact confirms the coalitions that took place during the past two election sessions.

Arafat Midbash has said in an article that American women soldiers recruited at military bases outside America seem to be loosing their temper to an extent to committing attacks on people where they are stationed as has happened with the recent attack on a Bahraini woman. Though the incident took place in a small Arab country, the Arab citizen in this small island insisted to express their xenophobia towards these aliens on their land. This enmity does not spring from hatred to Americans as citizens. It is rather a stance of disagreement with policies of successive US administrations towards the Arab issues. Bushs present administration maybe the one that has received the biggest portion of Arab and Islamic enmity because simply it has unmasked the real face of the actual hostile intentions the Americans harbor against Arabs and Muslims. American administrations have also proved that they are lacking credibility and truthfulness towards any human race.
If the Americans have made any apology to the state of Bahrain for the harm and insult by their male and female soldiers, it would be certainly be insufficient and maybe containing some implied phrases of threat. It is really a stand of ingratitude towards a state and people offering military facilities to the Americans.

Columnist Ali Mohammed al-Surari says again those who are keen on future of Yemen felt with disappointment as the 21th anniversary of declaring the unity has passed without having an order being issued regarding cancellation of political verdicts against a group who had participated in making the historic event of unity.
Many think that circumstances have become suitable for canceling these verdicts, especially after the elapse of eight years on the end of the 1994 war. During these years many things changed and new developments have occurred making validity of these verdicts against the so-called group of 16 as futile and does not achieve any aim. Given this thinking it has been expected a political decision to be issued on canceling those sentences at the anniversary of the unity, taking into consideration that most of those meant by these sentences are the second party of the leading group that negotiated on realizing the unity and signed its documents. Without their participation and contribution that historic event would not have seen light.

On future of the Palestinian intifadha, the information officer of HAMAS office in Sanaa says in his article that the intifadha would not stop till the land is liberated from the Zionist occupation and the Palestinians restore their dignity.
Resistance would remain the only option and strategic goal for all freemen of the Palestinian people. Resistance would continue to be our instrument to attain our aim of establishing the Palestinian State on liberated Palestine. The Zionists have abrogated all pledges and agreements and pledge to peace. They have abrogated all agreements and restarted their aggression on the people, destroyed houses and buildings and killed women, children and elderly people.

Editorial of the newspaper says the economic situation remains the basic dynamic factor of many internal and external policies. Economy would force many governments and regimes in many cases to take decisions not in parallel with the general policy of the state.
Nowadays, while we are living consequences of the war on terror, as termed by America, we find our country obliged to deal with this file to rid Yemen of any files that may be used against it and at the same time to attract some American aid or international banks loans.

Columnist Abdulbassit Tarish says in his article that the Arab intifadha in Palestine is continuous. Its continuity is one of the historic facts on which the Palestinian struggle and the Arab-Zionist conflict are based. The intifadha is continuous because it is not a temporary reaction or response but rather an inevitable development of the historical conflict imposed on the situation between Arabs and the Zionist movement that usurped the Arab land through the terrorist colonization.
In order that our country manages to shorten its waiting time for what the donor countries would give us, it has to centre it attention to benefiting from assistance offered to it and invest them in the proper way serving the infrastructure, particularly building the Yemeni citizen who represents the prime Yemeni capital. Building the Yemeni citizen properly, scientifically, culturally and socially, along with preparing the internal situation institutionally and legally, would lead to dispensing with the state of waiting which mostly affects our independence. The government and the citizens should work hard and faithfully to extremely benefit from the countrys riches.

Dr Abdulla al-Fadhli tackled in an article the Yemeni experiment of Local Councils saying the General Peoples Congress party government has realised the dream of Yemeni people of electing the local councils on 20 February 2001. This goal was one of demands the Yemeni political parties remained calling for long time ago. law of local councils has defined the tasks, specializations and resources needed by the councils to enable them perform the duties entrusted with them, especially their role in economic development and finishing the projects needed by each governorate and districts. These tasks are carried out in accordance with plans and priorities these councils would set up.
As the state has given the local councils an added opportunity to continue their tasks and practice the duties assigned for them till the date of the coming elections, the extension decision came to be in interest of local councils as a kind of stability to fulfill the projects they aspire to achieve.
