Columnist Zaid AL-Shami says in his article this week that use of force against the defenseless citizens by the authority has become a system. Security men and employees are instigated against the citizens. There are many images of violence used against peddlers, workers, farmers and tax-payers. Students have got the biggest share of violence practiced on them, especially recently. Coercive ways have been used against them to intimidate them, confiscate their will and prevent them from exercising their activities. Such practices were extended to ban holding their elections at universities halls and even to use gunfire. Danger does not lie in feeling of those responsible for the attacks as being immune of accountability. This violence also gives a pretest to an allegation that Yemen is an unstable country and the sate is unable to carry out its tasks.

Dr. Abdulghani Qassem, head of education department at Sanaa university confirms that despite partially of American policy to Israels interests, especially after 11 September events, the Palestinian leadership and some Arab regimes rush towards submission to U.S. dictates. This surrender mechanism implementation entrusted with major U.S. delegates. The first adopts achievement of Israeli security. The second is concerned with political solution, the features of which are defined by Israel. The third, head of the U.S. CIA, plays the role of securing the Arab cover for both security and political solutions that give Israel all that it wants and postpone all the issues connected to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The American delegations, during their meetings Arafat, have been keen to impose one demand he has to meet, i.e. protection of the Israeli colonialists entity. They dictate items of security reform of the structures of the Palestinian authority, leading to stopping all martyrdom operations. At the same time the war criminal Sharon continues his crimes against the Palestinian people. Security is for Israel. The Palestinians do not have any right to homeland nor to security.

The newspaper editorial begins with a question on how could a strong homeland be built with shackled hands, broken will and confiscated rights?
The editorial maintains that freedom and increase in number of its disciples is a painful premonition for the regime. It moves in it all values of hatred towards others and a desire for suppression to abort any initiative or a civil grouping announcing its alignment with peoples right to live and work under a clean political climate and under the umbrella of a state showing respect to humanity of its citizens and their natural rights. Registers on human rights in Yemen proved the broadening of the scale of attacking public and civil freedoms. This is an outcome of the increasing number of those defending freedoms in the face of oppression.
Raising the ceiling of violations and expanding authorities of apparatuses and keeping them outside legal accountability would not achieve a permanent stability to the ruling regime. Authorities are called to stop enlarging of its ill-famed record of human rights and release freedoms and set themselves free from being enslaved to power and haughtiness.

Columnist Mohammed al-Zubaidi discusses in an article the feasibility of the Arabs and Muslims with the limited states of America. He reiterates what he believes that Arabs and Muslims alliance with the U.S. is useless and that the U.S. has dispensed with holding alliance with others by its alliance with Israel. The U.S. president George W. Bush, in his stance towards Arab and Muslims, sees no difference between moderate and extremist, conservative or radical. According to the U.S. and Israeli concept, the Palestinian authority should merely be a body depending Israels security and that is what they think of the proposed reform of the Palestinian authority system and structure. It is to be noted that in the wake of Beirut Arab Summit, the U.S. has tried to form axes among the Arab countries. One of the most prominent results of this attempt is to tempt the Arab countries bordering Israel to work for neutralizing the AL-Aqsa intifadha and ignoring rightfulness of self-defense, resistance of the Zionist entity and martyrdom operations.
A question may be raised on whether the Arabs and Muslims should follow other ways and probe the stand of Europe, and whether it could adopt effective and independent attitudes, even if they were through the United Nations?

Al-Saqqaf adds that the latest issue of the ruling party organ devoted most of its campaign against al-Islah party, using the term of terrorism, which reminds us of Bushs media in the wake of September events in the U.S. The newspaper has in its editorial threatened that al-Islah would face the same destiny of forces it described as apostate and secessionist.
The columnist confirmed that he was not in the process of defending Islah, but criticized al-Mithaq weekly describing it as playing with fire and warned that the fire could extent to all. He asked whether the ruling partys newspaper would priorities the homelands interest.

The newspapers editorial this week has been devoted to Yemeni-Saudi developing relations, citing that the recent periodical meeting of the Yemeni-Saudi coordination council ushers a confirmation of development of these relations. The coordination council meeting is headed by Yemeni prime minister Abdulqader ba Jammal and the Saudi second deputy premier Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz. Yemeni-Saudi relations have inaugurated a new era with the signing of the border agreement between the two countries.
The editorial maintains that the two brethren peoples expect much from these meetings particularly concerning the level of practical coordination in the agreed upon fields, mainly in economic area and volume of mutual investments, as well as coordination in tariff and standardization areas. Attention should also be given to the issue of coordination in the education area, especially after the two countries have been accused by the United States on the existence of a fertile land in these countries for the growth of terror through education. This issue should be given much attention by the two countries and to found coordination between them. By this accusation the intention is to interfere in school curricula especially religious subjects, Arabic language and history. We stress the necessity of coordination between the two countries in all fields.

The newspapers editorial says that the government, in its endeavor to make administrative and financial reforms a reality, mustve taken into account the significance of providing a fair and competent judicial system and eliminate all types of crookedness that kept standing in the way of implementing the law. The system must undergo radical reforms so as to solve everybodys disputes and help them live in more peaceful and stable life.
Unfortunately, this system is still suffering from bureaucracy in which cases can take years to be settled- something that often results in deepening the misery of people and intensifying their conflicts, especially when revenge is involved.
However, perhaps reforms directed at the judicial system will help make things less complicated through loosening the grip of centralism in this vital area.
