Columnist Mohammed Amer says in his column this week that with the approach of parliamentary elections begin the campaign of promises and false hopes and self-praising. We usually get influenced and impressed with and believe what all that is said after a rhetoric address or opening any project and forget about the general interest of the homeland in a repeated attempt to escape from despair.
While some think that such a stance indicates goo-heartedness, tolerance and unlimited patience, the other some think it an indication of naivety and stupidity. As choosing the proper person for the proper place reflects the degree of awareness, openness and freedom, on the contrary failure in doing so expresses the degree of naivety and incompetence of taking decision. Thus we see during the former parliamentary and local councils elections that partisan and tribalism had noticeable effect in ascension to decision-making positions a group of persons preferring their interests. Whenever I think of the reality I remember all the promises and wishes.

In its editorial the newspaper says perhaps the American president, while formulating a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict, realizes that peoples of the region are no longer able to understand the American stand biased to Israel against the Arabs. This American stand has created in them a conviction that America has given Israels interests a priority even to Americas interests. Even if we acknowledge that this American decisions a right of the American administration,it has also to understand that the Arabs have also the right at the same time to reformulate their relations with the United States.
The Arab masses pressure on their governments is in the increase, especially after the Arabs have offered their just and comprehensive peace initiative which it was supposed that Israel would grasp quickly. Israel has, however, preferred to respond to it with the policy of force and obstinacy which it does well with the hope of imposing the solution it wants upon the Arabs. Israels practice of oppression and state terror have closed the doors of hope before the Palestinian people. The result is that many Palestinian youth speed up in offering their lives as sacrifice for gaining freedom and independence.

The newspaper political editor says it seems the Bushs administration has not found its stands supporting the Zionist entitys crimes against the Palestinian people as sufficient. This time America seems resolved to practice another offense against the Arabs and Muslims. It is preparing for lunching an aggressive on Iraq, in an attempt to report the Afghan scenario against the people of Iraq. In so doing the U.S. administration meets wishes of war generals in the administration seeking to have avenge on Iraq for settling old accounts. America has fabricated the term of terror which no doubt it thinks it is only confined to all that is Arab or Islamic.
While aggression on Iraq appears imminent on part of the Americans, the question remains, what about the Arabs. What about stands of other international parties towards this aggression? Iraqs neighbors are mostly meant by this query especially by considering Iraqs positive efforts expressed by Iraqs leadership towards its neighbors on many an occasion, about its willingness and readiness to engage in a comprehensive settlement to the existing dispute. The other question is whether Arab and Islamic leadership and people can accept to witness other examples of Kabul and Jenin in Baghdad. Would the other capital be waiting to their destiny in the so-called war on terror, which remains certain as long as warmongers remain atop the Washington administration?

Arab affairs editor says after frequent visits to Washington by Arab leaders and officials, showing loyalty to U.S. administration and accepting a Palestinian state of a 42% of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, dismissing the issues of al-Qaeda and return of the refugees, president Bush made those Arabs frustrated. They were pinning hope on an imminent peace conference, but Bush declared his acceptance of the hard-lined condition of terrorist Sharon on holding talks with the Palestinians and announcing that circumstances were not suitable yet for holding a conference on the Middle East because he did not trust the new Palestinian government.
European observers, who tried to probe the U.S. Mideast policy, find difficulty to accept Bushs view of Palestinian sate and statements on an Arab peace plan, along with his open support for the Israeli aggression on the Palestinians led by Sharon, who alleges to be part of the war against terror.
European observers also confirm it is difficult to move forward at a time the American policy changes everyday and sometimes every hour. Arab politician see Bushs acceptance of Sharon condition as strong blow to Arab leaders and officials who wagered on holding a peace conference soon.
After all that the Arabs have no option other than changing the political address and action and to use the alternatives that ensure rectifying the equation. It is the choice of confrontation forced on them and to stave off the aggravating Israeli danger by consolidating resistance and allowing the Arab people to express their opinion and anger.

columnist Mohammed al-Zubaidi says in an article this week that the more diminished the possibility of international balance, the more increase is the tyranny. We have been dreaming of a world where humanity coexist peacefully. It has been supposed that the UN would represent a safety value for justice peace and peaceful coexistence among nations.
The U.S. has been trying to impose its hegemony on the world and its destinies since it has become the one superpower on international arena. It has become more ferocious following the attacks on World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11 and raising the slogan of war on terror. The U.S. interprets terror in line with its vision. Terror, according to its vision, is what contradicts its interests. It has gone beyond protection of terror when it used its right to veto at the UN Security Council in defense of terror and racism perpetrated by the Zionist entity government. Some of the EU countries were right when they said the United States misused the international sympathy with it in the wake of 11 September events. It behaved individually and without taking into account its allies. Officials of the U.S administration repeated saying that terror is terror every time and everywhere, but in practice they contradict themselves. They ardently defend terror of the Zionist entity and completely forget meanings and concepts of international legitimacy that distinguishes between fighting and resisting occupation and terrorism of the occupying state. They raised Cain against those who committed war crimes in the Balkan war, whereas they use their influence to pressure the UN against a resolution of sending a fact-finding committee to the Palestinian territories.

The newspapers editorial discusses the issue of kidnapping girls describing it as becoming almost a phenomenon including most of Yemens governorates. The editorial says it is an issue in need of a serious study and strict measures. Keeping silent vis-a- vis these practices need accurate study of their causes, material, or moral. This phenomenon is coinciding with opening centers of adultery that are discovered in major cities. Perhaps the most important measures that must be taken by the ministry of interior is to take a brave decision on watching the places that become centers for immoral practice, whether houses or parks. These seem to represent main seminaries for seducing and kidnapping girls and forcing them to be involved in adultery.
We want a serious stand against all those violate security, and the issue of kidnapping girls comes on top of questions of violation and security of the citizen and the homeland.
