Sheikh Hameed Abu Luhoum Escapes Death [Archives:2000/41/Local News]

Sheikh Hameed Sinan Abu Luhoum (son of Sheikh Sinan Abu Luhoum) one of the well-known leaders of Bakeel tribe was hit in his thigh in an assassination attempt in Sanaa
downtown when a car carrying gunmen blocked his way and opened fire at his car while driving home last Saturday. Sheikh Hameed and his seriously injured chauffeur were rushed to Hospital.
Informed sources said that two suspects had been arrested, adding that some unidentified miscreants were behind the operation. Such people instigate tribesmen to commit violence under the pretext of tribal conflicts, the sources added.
