Cleaning up the shores is a great idea. However, you need to pay a visit to the shores of the island of Socotra where parts of the shores are littered with medical waste, such as exposed needles, etc. How do I know? I have been there and seen it all.
I have the pictures to prove it. Now, who do you think are the unconscious nit-wits responsible for endangering the natural life of the islanders? I have my hunches but I'll leave it to you to get to the bottom of it.
