The activities of the third course on bee raising were wrapped up Thursday at the Bee Raising Development Project in Osaifira, Taiz. It was organized by the project from July 17th to 22nd with the participation of 15 trainees and from different governorates.
Participants were given information on how to raise bee queens, select categories, and examine hives for the purpose of maintaining the quality of the internationally renowned Yemeni honey.
The project is planning other similar courses in the coming period that are meant for preserving the good reputation of Yemeni honey as it is a national wealth, contributing hard currency to the public treasury.
“There should be a serious interaction among different responsible sides so as to raise awareness on the vitality of this wealth and of methods of preserving it,” said a source in the project.
