Upcoming conference on population, health and family planning [Archives:2004/734/Local News]
A regional conference on population, health productivity and family planning will be held in Sana'a May 8 to 9 under the slogan, “Ten years since Cairo Conference on Population and Development: 1994-2004, from recommendations to obligations and implementation.”
According to Saba News Agency, the conference, organized by the Yemeni Family Caring Association, under the supervision of the International Family Planning Union, aims, among others, at evaluating progress achieved in Yemen in the field of population, health productivity and family planning.
It also aims at standing before the activities, which have not yet been implemented, and explaining the difficulties, challenges, and the funding issues of population, health productivity and family planning based on the recommendations of Cairo Population and Development Conference.
It will also set the priorities in the fields of population, health productivity and family planning in five key areas: AIDS, youths, teenagers, social kind and services.
It is expected that three Arab Organizations will participate in the conferecene: the Sudanese Family Planning Association, the Bahrain Family Planning Association, and the Egyptian Family Planning Association
In addition, there will be participation of representatives of regional office of International Family Planning Union, local and international governments' corporations and related non-governmental organizations.
