I am an eleven year girl living in Portland, Oregon – USA. Although I don't know exactly what is going on in this war, I do have my opinions. First, I don't want my mom to leave me. She is in the reserve military and can be called away at any time. She does not want to go, and I don't want her to either.
Most of my opinions are based on my mom's views. I have watched her cry over some of the pictures of the war. The one that made her the saddest was of the little boy with no arms and burns on his body. I agree with her that there is no right or wrong in a war, only ugliness.
Saddam treated his people badly, and that was wrong. I think any person who treats people like that should be sent to prison, so they can't hurt people anymore.
There are many deaths and injuries on both sides of this war. Why do the world leaders let it come to that? Why can't there be more peace in the world? Why must we kill each other? These are questions that my mom says she can't answer. Is there anyone who can?
