Monday, 31 May 2004- Yemen Development Foundation inaugurated its new headquarters today, coinciding with the launch of a training session in the field of computers for some cadres of cooperative and charitable associations.
The inauguration ribbon was cut in the presence of the representative of the British Development Foundation, whose headquarters are in Birmingham; the British Ambassador in Sana'a, Ms. Francis Guy; Yemeni Undersecretary at the Ministry of Planning and Development; and a number of leaders of non-governmental organizations.
The Yemen Development Foundation, a branch of the British Development Foundation, is expected according to its brochure to provide free services such as training sessions for poor women in sewing, on first emergency aid and on computer skills. In addition, the foundation will provide consultation and training for the integration of non-governmental organizations that carry various community services, and to supply them with essential information related to development and local policies.
