The third “Italian Week” activities have started yesterday and will last until the 6th of June in Sana'a and, for the first time, also in Aden.
Initiatives and events have been underlined and further promoted the existing strong cooperation between Italy and Yemen in different fields.
High-ranking representatives of the Tuscany Region and of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce have come to Yemen specifically for this occasion and have demonstrated their leading role in this event.
The Tuscany region has been represented by the speaker of the Regional Assembly, Hon Ricardo Nencinl and by the President of the Florence Industrialist Association, Dr. Ranieri Pontello, while a delegation of industrialists from the Salerno Chamber of Commerce are led by Dr. Augusto Strianese, chairman of the chamber.
The main event of the “Italian Week” is the official meeting, jointly organized between the Federation of the Italian and Yemeni Chambers of Commerce. The event aims at establishing new business contacts between the Delegation of Italian industrialists, from the Tuscany Region and from the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, with their Yemeni counterparts. The chairman of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Augusto Strianese presented the activities of the industrial area of Salerno, one of the most active of South Italy with a global export of 1.5 billion Euros in 2002. “I strongly hope that this initiative could constitute an important step in order to start stable institutional and economic relationships between Salerno and the Republic of Yemen.” he said.
